The Vi Peel (Vitality Institute) is a gentle yet powerful medical-grade chemical peel for the treatment of acne and acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, age and sun spots, hyperpigmentation, melasma, rosacea, enlarged pores, oil balancing, and overall skin health.
The Vi Peel is gentle, safe, and effective on all skin types and colors and can be used on the face, neck, chest, arms, back, and legs. It is the only peel safe for the under-eye area. It is also painless and requires minimal downtime.
The Vi Peel contains a blend of Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA), Tretinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C, and other minerals that work together to safely remove the damaged layers of the skin, promote cellular turnover, and refine the surface layer for a smoother, clearer, firmer skin that has a more youthful and radiant appearance.
VI Peels are considered safe for all skin tones and ethnicities, making them a great choice for anyone looking to significantly improve their complexion. Both men and women troubled by acne, scarring, fine lines, and sunspots can benefit from this ‘medium depth peel’ Chemical Peel. The ideal candidate will be in generally good health and have reasonable expectations for the procedure. At the consultation appointment, your provider will decide if a VI Peel is the right technique to meet an individual’s aesthetic goals.*
A VI Peel takes just a few minutes to apply. Light skin tones are not required to pretreat before the VI Peel, although darker skin tones may need to precondition for two to four weeks. Initially, a light stinging sensation may be noted as the peel is applied, although this will quickly diminish. No anesthesia is required during the treatment, as the VI Peel contains a numbing agent, which ensures your comfort.
Once the VI Peel has been applied by an aesthetician, patients are free to return home. The peel will need to remain on the skin for at least four hours, at which time it can be washed off. Additional aftercare products, designed to enhance the peeling process, will be given to the patient. The aesthetician will carefully review all of the at-home instructions before a VI Peel patient leaves the office.*
Initially, after patients wash the VI Peel from their faces, the skin will appear red and mildly swollen. This is normal and will resolve over the first 24 hours. There is no required downtime after a VI Peel; patients are able to return to work, school, and most normal activities immediately. It is imperative that the VI Peel remain on the face for a minimum of four hours. Vigorous exercise or strenuous activities should be avoided for the first 24-48 hours, as the resulting sweat could potentially alter the VI Peel’s results.
Two to three days after the VI Peel application, the skin will begin to peel. This process can last between three and seven days, depending on the patient’s skin type and condition. A moisturizer can be used during this time to help mask the noticeable appearance of peeling. While the skin is healing, it may be extra sensitive, so patients should continuously wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher during the peeling process. Once the skin is fully healed, in about 14 days, patients will notice a smoother, healthier complexion.
Aside from the actual cost of the Vi Peel treatment, the overall price for the session will vary depending on the additional skincare treatments used during the session.
