What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplane is a highly effective superficial exfoliation. Dermaplaning scrapes and exfoliates away the top layers of inert skin. This treatment aids in skin toning, texturizing, and clarifying skin. Dermaplaning is suitable for all skin types.
One of the perks of this treatment is that it also removes the unwanted hair commonly known as peach fuzz. Removing the hair gives your face a smoother, gorgeous appearance immediately following the treatment. Make-up may be applied after treatment. Facial hair returns slowly approximately in 4-6 weeks. The hair will not come back darker, instead lighter, finer and more sparse with each treatment.
Dermaplaning is also an effective exfoliation method for clients that have couperose (tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin, rosacea, sensitive skin or allergies that prevent the use of microdermabrasion). The treatment is very relaxing and gentle, there is no down time and you leave looking very fresh and radiant.
How does Dermaplaning work?
Dermaplaning can be performed on small areas as well as large ones typically done on the entire face. Dermaplaning is also a great add on services to combine with other treatments such as chemical peels or Hydrafacials. Dermaplaning removes up to 3 weeks worth of dead skin and build up. Dermaplaning uses a special blade known as a dermatone blade. This blade has a rotating head and relies on continual movement to safely remove the layers of dead skin. The blade is held at a 45 degree angle to your skin while your esthetcian gently glides it along the surface of your skin. The service takes 30 mintues to complete and there is no downtime afterwards.
