WHAT IS THE MOXI FRAXEL LASER MOXI
MOXI is a state-of-the-art las treatment that gently lightens, brightens, and refreshes the skin with minimal downtime, it was specifically designed for younger patients and targeted toward preventative anti-aging measures.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once the desired results are discussed and the proper paperwork is filled out, the client will be comfortably situated in one of our private rooms for the procedure. A numbing cream will be applied for 20 minutes prior to the procedure for comfort. The Moxi laser device delivers micro coagulation zones, targeting pigment by creating tiny perforations in the superficial top layer of the skin, which signals the dermal repair process. The appearance of brown and red spots that are caused by sun damage or aging and revitalizing the texture and tone of the skin are thus reduced over time after these treatments. Due to its wavelength, this laser is one of the gentlest fractional laser treatments on the market, requiring only 12-15 minutes to perform and zero downtime. Moxi has a greater range of customization than other devices, and is often combined with other modalities such as the Broad Band Light (BBL) treatments.
TIPS FOR POST PROCEDURE.
Immediately after the MOXI treatment, patients may experience warmth for 1-2 hours that may continue 12-24 hours after the treatment. Using a fan, cold compress, and a mineral water spray will help to alleviate the warmth, while the spray will provide much needed moisture to the skin. The skin may also appear red – which can persist for up to 7 days, depending on the intensity of the treatment. Use a gentle cleaner, moisturizer, an SPF of 30+ (yes, even in the winter) and avoid the sun during this time. MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) will appear 2-3 days after the treatment as tiny dark spots and bronzed appearance to the treated area. This is the part of the healing process, where treated tissue is working its way out of your body while new skin is being generated. The skin will feel very dry and scratchy like sandpaper, before finally flaking and peeling off. Do not pick at your skin, and keep it moisturized during this time. Make up may be worn 24 hours after the treatment. When cleansing the treated area, use a soft wash cloth or towel and avoid any scrubbing to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation. Avoid strenuous activity and sweating for 24 hours. At Dvida Spa, we care about maximizing your results, post treatment skin care will be recommended based on the intensity of the treatment and your specific concerns.
