What is Botox?
Botox, also known as botulinum toxin, is a protein that can be used cosmetically or medically to block nerve pathways that tell the muscles to contract. For cosmetic uses, Botox is primarily injected into areas of the face that cause dynamic expression lines. This, in turn, relaxes the facial muscles which then reduces muscle activity in the areas of the face that cause wrinkles and lines to form.
What are the benefits of Botox?

Is Botox painful?
Botox is noninvasive and relatively painless. The procedure is completed within a half an hour. If necessary, we take the appropriate measures to numb the area ahead of time.
How long is the downtime for Botox?
There is little to no downtime for Botox. There can be mild bruising and/or redness around the site of injection which should go down in a matter of hours.
How long does Botox last and when will I begin to see results?
Botox usually appears in about 3 to 7 days after the injections are performed and lasts about 4 to 6 months.

What is the average cost of Botox?
Botox at Dvida Spa are $13 per unit. It is more cost effective to buy by the unit as by the area product may go to waste. Total price will depend on how many units were discussed during consultation. Average units used are between 10 and 20.
What are the most common areas to get Botox?
Areas that cause lines and wrinkles such as around the eyebrows, eyes, mouth and forehead are most often the site of Botox injections.
What will I be able to do after my procedure?
Since there is little to no downtime after the procedure, patients often simply continue on with their regular day with little to no discomfort.
What should I avoid after treatment?
Patients should avoid applying direct pressure on their face for at least 8 hours. Patients should also avoid any other procedure that involves the face for at least two weeks after injections.
